Did you make any of the top New Year’s resolutions for 2023? If you did, you’re in good company, as new research shows just over a third of Americans (37%) say they have a goal or a resolution they want to accomplish in the coming year.
It seems most folks are also feeling optimistic about their goals. The survey of a thousand U.S. adults finds 87% of them say they’re somewhat or very likely to keep it throughout next year. The poll also reveals Americans’ top resolutions for 2023 include:
- Improve physical health (20%)
- Save more money (20%)
- Exercise more (19%)
- Eat healthier (18%)
- Be happier (17%)
- Lose weight (17%)
- Pay down debts (13%)
- Learn something new (12%)
According to the poll, there are also some differences in the New Year’s resolutions men and women make:
- Women are slightly more likely than men to say that they want to eat healthier in 2023 (23% vs. 13%)
- More women also have a goal to lose weight than men do (21% vs 12%)
- And more women want to travel in the new year than men (14% vs. 7%)
