Peacock Drops First Teaser For New Slasher Film “They/Them”
If you’ve seen and loved movies like Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Us, and The Purge movies, you’ll love this next one from Blumhouse Productions. The production house specialized in horror teamed up with Peacock to create a new horror film that was first announced in May. They released a new teaser for the slasher film “They/Them” pronounced, “They Slash Them”. It was written and directed by John Logan, who previously wrote scripts for Skyfall, Hugo, Gladiator, and The Aviator. Variety says this will be Logan’s first experience directing.
Kevin Bacon and Theo Germaine star as the two main characters. Bacon stars as Owen Whistler, the owner of a conversion therapy camp. Whistler’s intent is to “cure” LGBTQIA+ teens of their non-conforming sexualities and gender identities. Germaine plays a trans and nonbinary teen named Jordan. Jordan comes to camp after making a deal with their parents that they would be legally emancipated after attending the camp.
While at the camp, Jordan and the other campers resist Whistler’s “treatment”. Soon, several murders lead the teens to investigate the camp’s mysterious past and disturbing secrets.
The film also stars Carrie Preston, Anna Chlumsky, Quei Tann, Austin Crute, Monique Kim, Anna Lore, Cooper Koch and Darwin del Fabro.
“They/Them” begins streaming exclusively on Peacock on August 5th. Watch the first teaser below:
