Sarah Culberson, a West Virginian woman living her life with her adopted parents, decided that she wanted to know more about her biological family. She never knew that this decision would mean discovering she’s a princess.

When Culberson turned 21, she hired a private investigator who found her aunt and uncle living in Maryland. Before she knew it, she went from being Sarah Culberson to being Princess Sarah Culberson of the Mende Tribe in Sierra Leone.

Similar to a well-loved movie I know of…starring Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews, perhaps?

It really is real-life Princess Diaries! Culberson’s uncle gave her the news and since then, she has fully embraced her royal heritage. Culberson started by creating the “Sierra Leone Rising” nonprofit foundation. The foundation advocates for education, public health safety, and women’s empowerment.

Disney caught wind of her amazing story and plans to make a movie about her life.

How would your life change if you found out you were a princess? Would you get more involved in the community, wear different clothes, act differently? Or would nothing change?
