‘Pinocchio’ Live-Action Remake Premiere Date Set on Disney+
Variety says Disney has announced the date for the remake of the 1940 classic, Pinocchio. It will drop exclusively on Disney+ and star Tom Hanks as Geppetto, the woodcarver who makes Pinnochio out of wood and treats him as his own son.
In addition to Tom Hanks, the live-action stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Cynthia Erivo, Keegan-Michael Key, Lorraine Bracco, Luke Evans, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who will voice Jiminy Cricket. Robert Zemeckis, director of Back to the Future and Forrest Gump, will direct the new film.
The live-action film will premiere on September 8th, 2022, which is also Disney+ Day, which celebrates when the streaming service initially dropped. Disney has promised even more premieres that day from Disney, Pixar, National Geographic, Star Wars, and Marvel.
