A sequel for the original 1987 Dirty Dancing is set to come out in early 2024. The Wrap says more details are now emerging about the now confirmed sequel.
According to The Wrap, Lionsgate brought aboard ‘Long Shot’ and ‘Warm Bodies’ director Jonathan Levine to direct the upcoming film. He says the plot will focus on the coming-of-age story of Grey's daughter as she grows up in the 1990's.
Jonathan said, “Through co-writing it, I fell in love with the characters (new and old), the world of 1990s Catskills New York, and the music, which will range from songs from the original movie to ‘90s hip-hop. I can’t wait to collaborate with Jennifer to bring this beautiful story of summer and romance and dancing to a generation of new fans.”
The sequel's production is set to begin later this year. Jennifer Grey will star as well as serve as executive producer. Casting is currently still underway.

Who hasn't had a good rom-com movie marathon in a while? I feel like I'll go a few months without seeing any romance movies, and then suddenly I want to watch ALL of them!
Actually, when I was a kid and I started watching cute romance movies like Ella Enchanted and A Walk to Remember, I absolutely LOVED them. And if you're like me, your favorite trope in a romance book or movie is the enemies-to-lovers plotline. Man...I really want my life to have an enemies-to-lovers plotline LOL!
Until then, though, I put together 21 of my personal favorite enemies-to-lovers films. Now, there are lots of variety throughout those 21. Some are my all-time favs that I used to watch as a kid, so they're more catered towards kids. If you enjoyed watching Bridgerton, there are also some historical romance films like Pride & Prejudice.
Lots of these, you should know, are from the 90s and early 2000s. And if you were wondering (because I know you were), my favorite actress in romance movies has to be Julia Stiles. ESPECIALLY with enemies-to-lovers. I mean, come on, 10 Things I Hate About You??? Yep, it's on here. I've also got two more starring her, which you definitely should start with if you've never seen them. Save The Last Dance is one of them, and the other is The Prince & Me.
