Mooning Mona Lisa Statue Called Moona Lisa Is On Display Now In Bristol
Everyone knows the Mona Lisa. Created in 1503 by Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa is known for portraying the simple beauty of a woman. It’s one of the most well-known, well-respected, and most valuable pieces of art.
But I bet you haven’t heard of the Moona Lisa. It’s a statue of the woman known to be Mona Lisa, but you could say it’s a little cheekier than the painting.
The statue depicts her looking behind herself, lifting the back of her dress, and mooning onlookers with her bare statue butt. And it’s just as silly and awesome as you can imagine. Check it out in this tweet from @benez02 with the absolute best caption…

BBC says Bristol street artist Nick Walker first created a painting of Mooning Lisa after Banksy, another famous street artist told him that nothing else could ever be done to the Mona Lisa. He essentially meant that da Vinci’s painting is as close to perfect as art can get. But, Nick Walker disagreed.
He decided to create a real-life statue version of his original painting to prove Banksy wrong.
And now, his statue is going viral. It is now on display at M-Shed in Bristol until October 31st.
