This New Food Truck in South End Sells Latin Street Food Like Birria Tacos
The Charlotte ObserverĀ reports that Charlotte local Ricky Ortiz owns and operates a new food truck parked in South End called Tacos Rick-O. Born in Durango, Mexico, Ortiz has brought all of his favorite authentic Mexican street foods to Charlotte! One of those foods, birria tacos, is now trending on TikTok and other social media platforms! Birria is traditionally a savory Mexican beef stew where the beef is incredibly tender and has all kinds of flavor.
At Tacos Rick-O, Ortiz sells three Birria beef tacos that come with a dipping soup for $14! Then, for dessert, he sells a Fried Cheesecake Burrito for $5.50. I might be even more excited for the cheesecake burrito than I am the tacos…and I loveeeee tacos. On top of that, he sells fried plantains, Texano bowls, and more. See the full menu here.
The truck is parked outside of Hoppins at 1402 Winnifred Street, Charlotte NC 28203. The food truck is open Tuesday through Friday from 5 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday fromĀ 1 PM – 6 PM. I’m definitely going soon if anyone wants to join! Just look how yummy! The truck’s Instagram page is @tacosricko
