Disney Releases Trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 Coming Out September 30th
The iconic three witches are back! Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy return for Disney’s sequel to the original 1993 Hocus Pocus film. Today, Disney+ dropped the trailer for Hocus Pocus 2.
The Sanderson sisters hit Disney+ just in time for Halloween movie nights on September 30th.
The premise of this sequel is similar to the 1993 film. It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters. Now, they are again looking for revenge and to steal the youth of the children of Salem, Massachusetts. It is now up to three high school students to stop the witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.
The teaser shows we might even get a reprise of Bette Midler’s cover of “I Put a Spell On You”. People says we will also be seeing Billy Butcherson again, the undead zombie and Winifred’s ex from the first film.
Doug Jones, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, and Lilia Buckingham all star. Anne Fletcher directs.
On the official movie poster, it says, “We’re back, witches.”
An insider told People magazine, “Bette’s energy is the same as when she starred in the original. If anything, she raises the stakes.” They added, “The chemistry between the cast was still there.”
