Carolina Panthers Welcome The First Openly Trans Cheerleader
Attending a Carolina Panthers game is a Charlotte must. With football back (Yay) who wouldn't love wrapping up in your warm team gear and cheering on our boys? Okay...you might get a little chilly out there in the stands, but the Carolina Panthers are right here in the QC and a game is a perfect way to spend the day. Wear some gloves and go, team!
Pride month is the perfect time to shed light on some of the LGBTQIA+ heroes and role models in our very own community. Today, we’re shedding light on the first openly transgender female cheerleader in the NFL; Justine Lindsey.
Justine is a TopCat for our very own Carolina Panthers. Justine is only 29 years old, and shared the photo of herself on the field at Bank of America Stadium with the announcement.
This post was more brave than most people knew. According to BuzzFeed, the post was the first time that Lindsay had come out to her fellow teammates and wider community.
Lindsay told BuzzFeed, “I felt like, Why not tell the world; ‘ Hey, listen, this is a great accomplishment.”
And it is! Be sure to cheer along with Lindsay when you see her on the field cheering on the Panthers next season!
