It’s the first weekend of March! I can’t believe we’re already this far into the year. It feels like just yesterday, stores were stocked with jammies, and hoodies, and now I’m seeing bathing suits everywhere.

Spring break for colleges are starting, and while some people will spend theirs traveling, others are probably looking for fun stuff to do in town.

Luckily, in Charlotte there is a lot to do in the Spring. And with the weather being so beautiful the last few weeks, many people are getting excited for Spring.

Here are my top picks of things to do in Charlotte this weekend.

• Be Kind, Rewind: 90s Movie Series 

  This 90’s movie marathons are continuing at Camp North End. Grab a chair or blanket to watch “Wayne’s World” this Friday during this winter movie series. These movies are free to attend, and start at 7:30pm.

• Charlotte Hornets vs Orlando Magic

  The Charlotte Hornets are playing the Orlando Magic on Friday night. Tickets range from $16-$385, and tip off is at 7pm.

• Charlotte’s Dog Jog 

  I’m bringing my 12 year old pup to this dog jog on Saturday morning. You can walk, jog or run in this family- and fur-friendly 5K. Tickets range in price, and the race starts at 11am at at McAlpine Creek Park.

• South End Farmer’s Market

  Shop for locally sourced produce and other grocery items at this weekly event in the heart of South End. This event is free and starts at 8am on Saturday.

• Chalk the Raceway

  Get your artistic side out this Saturday at Boileryard. You can draw with chalk along the sidewalk of the Raceway building, and create a beautiful mural. This event is free to attend and runs from 9am-12pm.

• The Sneaker Exit

  Love sneakers? At this event you can check out the city’s sneaker culture, and also buy, sell and trade footwear, clothing and accessories. Tickets for this event are $25, and it runs from 1-7pm.

• 3rd CLT Donut Festival

  Love sweets? Stop by The Suffolk Punch this Saturday and enjoy treats from local vendors, live music and cocktails. Tickets are $26-$84 and the event runs from 1-5pm.

• 2023 NC Water For People Benefit Concert

  Live music for a good cause? We love that! Enjoy live music this weekend at Heist Brewery and Barrel Arts. Proceeds benefit Water For People’s mission to provide communities with lasting access to clean water and sanitation services. Tickets for this event range from  $18-$20, and it starts at 6pm on Saturday.

• Winter Market

  Want to get out in the city and support local? Shop at this market this weekend where they will have locally sourced items from 10am to noon.

  I felt like I needed to include one workout in here.  Hustle House at Allbirds  is doing an event this weakened where you can enjoy a total body workout from a certified personal trainer. Tickets are just $10, and it starts at 9am on Saturday.
