One thing we all know about weddings? They're expensive! And since the pandemic, prices for everything involving weddings have gone up a ton!

One of, if not THE most expensive part of weddings, is the wedding venue. It can cost upwards of $10,000 just to ret a venue in Charlotte. The rises in costs for weddings are definitely shifting trends. From making your own décor, to having friends officiate the wedding, there have been lots of ways people have tried to save money, while making their wedding day special.

The latest trend that is taking the internet by storm though; backyard weddings. Tik Tok has fallen in love with newlyweds Lindsey and Tyler Dobson who turned their backyard in St. Petersburg, Florida into their dream wedding venue.

The backyard transformation took 2 months, and after it was all said and done, they were able to host all 50 of their wedding guests there.

I absolutely love this idea! Not only can you completely customize your wedding, but even after all the building and décor expenses, you're definitely saving money. Obviously the biggest struggle would be parking, and making sure your neighbors are cool with it, but I think backyard wedding will become the next big trend as prices continue to rise.
