Cameron’s Pick Of Things To Do This Weekend In Charlotte (3.4-3.6)
It’s a huge weekend in Charlotte. We have races, soccer matches, and amazing weather all on the agenda for this weekend in Charlotte. I a most excited about Charlotte FC’s home opener, even though I’ll be sitting in the nosebleeds, I know it will be so much fun!
It finally feels like some energy is back in Charlotte, and here are some of my top picks of events going on in Charlotte this weekend.
FRIDAY
I Heart Rail Trail: Lights
- South End
- Check out the five temporary interactive exhibits along the one-mile stretch along the Rail Trail.
- Happening March 4-20.

Mardi Paws
- Skiptown
- Party with your pup and enjoy treats like beignets, live music, beads and photo props.

Charlotte FC Season Kickoff Party
- Lenny Boy Brewing
- It’s gameday eve at long last and Lenny Boy is celebrating with food from Another Food Truck and a new beer release.

Infiltrating the Perception Opening Reception
- Goodyear Arts (Camp North End)
- This new exhibition uses art to visualize mental health through the lens of several featured artists.

Carnivorous Terrarium Workshop
- PlantHouse
- Learn about carnivorous plants from the PlantHouse team and create a terrarium using venus fly traps, sundews and pitcher plants among other options

Truist Corporate Cup 5K & Half Marathon
- Truist Field
- Run in-person or virtually through March 5 then celebrate the race finish with a post-race party in Uptown featuring music, food and vendors.

- Optimist Hall

- Tour the center, meet the artists and performers and learn how this collaborative space is connecting with the arts community.

- It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Charlotte FC’s inaugural season is upon us and their first game on home turf is against LA Galaxy.

- Following a year of increased antisemitism and growing social service needs, the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte invites the community to volunteer at this phone-a-thon event to raise money to strengthen and unite the local Jewish community.

I Am Queen Charlotte

- This live storytelling will feature local performers telling the stories of Black women in Charlotte with musical accompaniment by the Charlotte Symphony, Opera Carolina and Lady Jess, a Charlotte-born-and-raised violinist. The show is also the kick-off of Queen Charlotte Week happening March 6-12.
