Catching Up With Cameron: Things To Do This Weekend in Charlotte (1.14-1.17)
Who’s ready for a snow day in the Queen City? Some people in Charlotte will be bunkering down and getting ready for the potential snow on Sunday, but others are ready to enjoy the weekend. Also, don’t forget, Monday is MLK Jr. Day, and so this will be a long weekend for some.
However you choose to spend your weekend, here are a few events going on around Charlotte that you can check out this weekend.

- Belk Theater
- Conductor Christopher Warren-Green leads the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Ninth Symphony.

- Charlotte Motor Speedway
- Car owners and enthusiasts are invited to The Speedway to celebrate their shared passion for automobiles. This event will have prized classics, customs and hot rods and coffee will be offered to help you start your day.

- Register a team of up to four people to face off in a puzzle-solving competition. The team with the quickest time will receive individual and team prizes and get to keep their competition puzzle.

Thirsty Beaver 14 Year Anniversary Party
- The legendary Thirsty Beaver dive bar/saloon is celebrating its 14 year anniversary and wants the Charlotte community to join in on the festivities. There will be live music by The Loose Lugnuts.

- This new film series hosted by Alchemy at C3 Lab kicks off with a screening of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” Hot Dogs and nachos (with an Alchemy twist) will be available for purchase. Ticket sales will help support the Film Society’s “Independent Picture House” project, which will open in NoDa later this year.

MLK Day 2022 “Community Dreams”
