Catching Up With Cameron: Things To Do 4th of July Weekend In Charlotte
Are you ready for a nice, long, 4th of July weekend? I know I am!
I plan on eating a lot this weekend, and trying to relax. Hopefully, i’ll be able to catch a firework show too; that’s my favorite way to celebrate the 4th of July. If you’re still looking for plans this weekend, here are some of the best events I found that are happening around the Charlotte for you to check out.
FRIDAY
Vin to Yin Yoga and Live Music
- 1911 Central Ave.
- This class will start off with an upbeat flow to get your body warmed up, and then lead into a grounding savasana.
- 6:30-7:30pm.

Sweet Spot Studio 4th of July Cake Decorating
- 4418 Monroe Rd. Ste. C
- Make your own red, white and blue cake using red velvet, blue vanilla, ganache drip and a custom topper by The Pillar Celebrations.

Brewers at 4001 Yancey Silent Disco
- 4001-A, Yancey Rd.
- Dance like no one’s watching as you groove to your own personal disco. In honor of it being 4th of July weekend, come dressed in red, white, and blue and prizes will be awarded for best dressed.

SATURDAY
Fourth of July at Harriet’s Hamburgers
- 1115 North Brevard St.
- Harriet’s Hamburgers is adding an all-American ice cream sandwich to its menu for the 4th of July weekend

Home of the 90s Selfie Museum Grand Opening
- This interactive selfie museum has 13 themed rooms filled with wall art and mementos from the era. Wear your best 90s get-up and bring your crew for a blast to the past.

Lenny Boy Brewing MAKRS Fest
- 3000 South Tryon St.
- Lenny Boy Brewing hosts the MAKRS Society for another monthly pop-up with local artists and vendors, food trucks and live music.

“Red, White and Boom” 4th of July Celebration
- Old Town Rock Hill
- Celebrate Independence Day in Old Town Rock Hill with live music from Groove Machine and Kids in America, food trucks, beer and wine and fireworks to end of the night.

NoDa Brewing Company’s “Sit. Sip. Songs.” Live Summer Music Series
- 2921 North Tryon St.
- Enjoy a beer on the patio while listening to live music from a rotating line-up of local artists. Performing this weekend is singer/songwriter, Dave Desmelik.
- 6-8pm.
- Free.
Star-Spangled Saturday at Optimist Hall
- 1115 North Brevard St.
- Celebrate this Independence Day weekend by going out to Optimist Hall for live music from HC Oakes Band, a fireworks show, and food from all of your favorite OH vendors. The fireworks show starts at 9:20pm.
- 6-10pm.

SUNDAY
Counterculture Club Outdoor Yoga Series
- Camp North End 1824 Statesville Ave.
- Channel your inner zen and join Counterculture Club Yoga in the Boileryard for their weekly outdoor yoga class at Camp North End. Fit for all levels. Bring a yoga mat and some water.
- 10-11am. $10 general admission, $40 buy four classes, get one free and $125 season pass.
BRUNCH! at Town Brewing Company
- 800 Grandin Rd.
- Enjoy delicious brunch offerings like waffles and gravy, nachos rancheros and sautéed shrimp breakfast pizza.

Skiptown 4th of July Daytime Bash
- 222 Rampart St.
- Bring your furry friend to Skiptown for a pup-friendly patriotic party. The bar and park will be open from 10am to 3pm, there will be live music by Rich Challen from noon to 3pm and the splash pad will be on all day.

4th of July BBQ Drag Brunch
- The Vanity House at 200 East Bland St.
- Join the queens of The Vanity House for a fabulous Fourth of July celebration. Your ticket includes a drag show and brunch with a menu selection from All American Pub. Doors open at 11am and the show starts at noon.

Billy Sunday 4th of July Cornhole Tournament and BBQ
- 1115 North Brevard St.
- Bring your friends out to Billy Sunday for a day on the patio complete with games, booze and barbecue. There will be a cornhole tournament, so if you and a friend would like to compete, sign up here.

- Free to attend, $5 to participate
ALL WEEKEND
Open Swim
- The Quarry at Carrigan Farms at 1213 Oak Ridge Farm Hwy
- Soak in the summer rays and go for a dip in the natural spring quarry at Carrigan Farms. Swimmers must pass a swim test to be in the water without a life jacket. Open swim runs now through Labor Day.
- 10am to 3pm.

The Whitewater Center’s Fourth of July Celebration
- 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy.
- Let freedom ring by exploring all the outdoor activities at the Whitewater Center. Weekend festivities will include live music, multiple yoga practices and fireworks displays each day.
- July 3 & 4.
- Free.
Visit Ramsey Creek Beach
- 18441 Nantz Rd.
- Mecklenburg County’s only public beach, Ramsey Creek Beach, will reopen this Saturday and Sunday from 12-5pm. Other than this weekend, the beach remains closed due to a lifeguard shortage.
- Noon to 5pm.
- $10 for parking, free CATS shuttle
Charlotte Regional Farmers Market
- 1801 Yorkmont Rd.
- This huge state-run market has a wide variety of vendors selling fresh produce, meat, eggs, flowers and more.
- 8am to 6pm.
- Free.
Cabarrus Brewing Company Frank Fest
- 329 McGill Ave. NW
- This three-day event is going to be jam-packed with a lineup of delicious food trucks, live music and activities, including axe-throwing and a hotdog eating contest.
- July 2-4.
