UNCC Shooting Victim Gets Named A Jedi By Star Wars creator Lucasfilm
One of the darkest moments of 2019 was the horrible shooting that happened at the campus of UNCC and took the lives of two students; Ellis R. Parlier, 19, and Riley Howell, who has since been praised as a hero. During the shooting, Howell actual charged the gunman and took him off his feet which prevented more injuries and bloodshed.
Well now, Howell, who was a huge star wars fan, has been immortalized as a Jedi.
Howell’s family received a letter from the fan relations team at Lucasfilm which explained,
“Riley’s courage and selflessness brings out the Jedi in all of us…As a small tribute, our Story Group has incorporated a reimagining of Riley’s name as a character in the Star Wars galaxy. We can’t reveal the specific details at this time, but the character’s name will appear in a forthcoming book publication later this year.”
They ended the letter in the best way possible,
“The Force will be with Riley, and all of you, always…”
