Charlotte Florist Gives Flowers To 800 Widows On Valentine’s Day
For many, Valentine’s Day is a day to show those you love how much they mean to you. For others, it can be more of a somber day; especially if you’ve lost someone special to you.
One Charlotte florist has made it her goal to make sure event those who may struggle with Valentine’s Day, still get shown love.
Ashley Manning, delivered flowers to over 800 local widows this Valentine’s Day. Manning is the owner of Pretty Things in Charlotte. She also teamed up with a group of volunteers to create the Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Project. The nonprofit was created in 2021, and has continued to grow every year since then.
Names of those who will be receiving the special surprise were submitted by community members.
What a wonderful idea! Valentine’s Day doesn’t always have to be a day about buying things, and going out to nice dinners. The Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Project shows that it can also be a wonderful to give back.
