The Best Ways To Avoid Allergies In The Carolinas
Have the allergies taken you over yet? Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by Carolina allergy season? Can I raise TWO HANDS? Let’s face it, allergies stink.
Here are the best ways to avoid allergies this year:
- Dry, windy days are the worst for pollen, so try to stay inside on those days
- Find a friend or hire someone else to mow your lawn, pull weeds, and other gardening chores
- Shower once you get home and remove clothes you’ve worn outside
- Check your local pollen levels to track how high pollen levels are each day
- If pollen counts are expected to be high, start taking medicine BEFORE you get allergies.
- Close doors and windows at night
- Avoid activity in the early morning; this is when pollen counts are often the highest for the day
- Use dehumidifiers, air purifiers and the air conditioning in your home.
Hopefully, the quick tips will help you breathe a little easier this Spring! If you are someone who knows this time of year really does get you, then it’s best to kick things into overdrive. Setting up your home, office, and spaces that you frequent properly can really help you tackle those seasonal allergies. Let’s be real, who wants to be locked in the house just because they can’t go a minute without sneezing?
Hi, I'm Cameron! I was born and raised in North Carolina. I'm a super tall redhead who is always down for tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas. Okay, so Mexican food is my personal favorite, but I’m not saying no if you’re trying to eat out on the town anywhere. I I am on air for middays but also the Program Director for Kiss 95.1. I enjoy connecting with Kiss 95.1’s amazing listeners and being able to bring all of my favorite things like food, wine, and life online into digital content.
