Could Whataburger Be Coming To Charlotte?
Charlotte is all abuzz online today with hopes that we may soon be getting a Whataburger restaurant.
The Texas based burger chain may actually by opening a location in Charlotte if the rumors are true. I’ve actually never eater at Whataburger, despite spending most of my holidays in Texas growing up, visiting my grandparents.
I do know from friends, and family, that Whataburger is highly beloved! My perception is that the way we North Carolinians feel about Bojangles, people from Texas feel like that about Whataburger.
According to WCNC, a “pre-submittal meeting plan” was filed that would hope to develop the former SunTrust Bank property into a Whataburger in the Tyvola Square shopping center. The city record of this plan is titled “Whataburger Conversion of Former Bank.”
Whataburger has been expanding in the past few years. The burger chain now has restaurants in 10 states, including the following in the southeast; Florida, and Georgia.
Charlotte would be a great market for Whataburger. With the city growing so much, we have so many transplants from all over, I have no doubt many people will be loving having a Whataburger here.
Personally, I’d just be excited to try it!
