These Vehicles Are The Most Likely To Reach Over 300k Miles
WHITTIER, CA - JULY 23: New Toyota cars and trucks are sold at Toyota of Whittier on July 23, 2008 in Whittier, California. Toyota Motor sold almost 300,000 more vehicles than General Motors in the first half of 2008 putting the Japanese automaker on a course to overtake GM, the world's biggest automaker for the past 77 years. The 2.41 million vehicles that Toyota sold in the second quarter was 2 percent more than the previous year while GM sales fell 5 percent to only 2.28 million. Record gas prices have led to lagging demand for big trucks like those that GM sells while Toyota has had much success with high mileage cars like its hybrid Prius. One things we love to do as Americans is drive. And if you’re like me, the idea of buying a new car is not exciting whatsoever. In fact, when I was purchasing my last car, the main metric I looked at was how long the car last so I wouldn’t have to buy another car anytime soon.
Believe it or not, a lot of vehicles don’t last that long. Only 1% of vehicles make it past the 200,000 mile mark. Just .03% of cars roll over the 300,000 mile mark, which is pretty incredible.
These are the cars and trucks that are most likely to make it past 300,000 based on statistics.
-
Toyota Tundra – .2%
-
Toyota 4Runner – .2%
-
GMC Yukon XL – .2%
-
Chevy Suburban – .2%
-
Ford Expedition – .2%
-
Toyota Sequoia – .4%
-
Toyota Land Cruiser – 1.5%
I’m surprised there weren’t more car brands on the list… like Honda, which is what I have… or Subaru, which are also known for lasting a long time. Basically, it looks like if you’re wanting to drive a car into the ground for years, Toyota’s might be your best bet!
