Why Cameron Will Never Be In Charge Of Driving On Road Trips Again
One thing you should know about me… I am the definition of directionally challenged. I NEVER know where I am. Seriously, I’m one of those people who still has to use their GPS to get anywhere and I’ve lived in Charlotte for years.
I saw all that to say, this past weekend, I had a BIG whoopsie.
Memorial Day weekend, I spent the weekend at the beach with friends. I was chosen to drive because I have the biggest car and we needed the cargo space. I really don’t mind driving at all, so it was no problem. That is, until we were driving home Sunday. My co-pilot, who is one of my best friend plugged her address (or so she thought) in the GPS and we were on our way.
Two hours pass by, and the GPS is saying our ETA is only 40 minutes away… GREAT! Except about 5 minutes later, I start seeing signs for Raleigh.
“Why am I seeing signs for Raleigh?” I ask my friend… And we both knew. She looked at the GPS, and she had typed in the right address, but the wrong city. We had been driving for over two hours in the wrong direction. I wish I could tell you I noticed sooner, but I didn’t. THAT is how bad I am with direction.
What was supposed to be a simple 3 1/2 hour drive turned into a nearly 6 hour drive REAL quick.
Needless to say, I think I have lost driving privilege’s, and my friend has lost co-pilot privilege’s for the foreseeable future.
