Catching Up With Cameron: Things To Do In Charlotte This Weekend (5.21-5.23)
The temperatures are going to get VERY hot this weekend in the Queen City. My plan is to spend most of the weekend by the pool.
If you are looking to brave the heat and get out and about this weekend however, here is a list of some activities happening around Charlotte you can check out:
FRIDAY
RH Charlotte’s rooftop wine bar opens

- Order wine directly from the bar at RH Charlotte’s rooftop restaurant and stroll the patio and gardens.

- May is mental health awareness month, so join certified meditation instructor Chelsea Green as she shares how meditation can be used when you feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or simply want to relax.

SlamCharlotte Poetry Slam Virtual Event
- Tune in to hear an impressive lineup of local poets including the current Slammaster, Bluz who is the 13th ranked individual poet in the world.

SATURDAY
- Optimist Hall at 1115 N Brevard St.
- Grab food from your favorite OH vendor then head out to the main courtyard to enjoy music from local artist Todd Johnson.

The Music Yard Spring Concert Series
- 2433 South Blvd.
- Together Bloom featuring music from Le Youth, Curt Reynolds and Gabriela Gonzalez.

- Swing by Atherton Mill to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables and other goods from local vendors or simply to walk along the rail trail.

1st Annual Habana Festival hosted by The Vintage Whiskey & Cigar Bar

- Experience traditional Cuban flavors from El Palon Divino Food Truck, handcrafted cocktails and all-day cigar specials at the 1st Annual Habana Festival.

Breathe + Bubbly: A Pop-Up Yoga Event
- 2215 Thrift Road, Suite B
- Summit Seltzer is once again teaming up with Dancing Lotus Yoga to offer a 45-minute outdoor yoga class, plus post-workout seltzers and snacks. There will also be “experience stations” featuring various local vendors with items to try. Bring a mat.

BBQ & Bluegrass at Dogwood Southern Table & Bar
- 4905 Ashley Park Ln
- Enjoy a casual afternoon of Carolina barbecue and bluegrass music on the patio of Dogwood. Each ticket gets you a plate of barbecue with all the fixings, sides, access to live music from the Mike Strauss Band.

SUNDAY

My Fair Lady Tea at the Ballantyne Hotel
- 10000 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy.
- Experience The Ballantyne’s take on classic teas offered in England’s finest tea houses — but with a Southern flair. There will be a variety of tea blends from Rare Tea Company, the official tea of the Royal Family.

- Bring a blanket or a chair and head to the River Jam stage to enjoy some live music by the whitewater rapids. Taking the stage this Friday is Gypsy jazz group, Jon Stickley Trio and performing Saturday is Ancient Cities.

- This walkable, self-guided event allows tour-goers to explore the hidden oases in center city while strolling the brick-paved sidewalks of this charming neighborhood in full bloom. There will be complimentary cocktail tastings, freshly-shucked oysters from Sea Level and Charlotte Joy Rides along the way.
- May 22 & 23 from noon to 4pm.
- $30-$40.
