Gen Z And Millennials Are Fighting Over These Fashion Trends
Okay, I feel personally attacked.
There is a war raging on TikTok right now between Gen Z and millennials. It all has to do with Gen Z calling out Millennials for our choice in trends that we do not want to give up.
Gen Z TikTok users are calling out those who are older than 25 for their love for side parts, and skinny jeans; trends that they say are no longer a thing. I’m 27 years old, and love my skinny jeans and side part… But am I aging myself?
Since January there have been 274,000 videos tagged “no skinny jeans” on TikTok and 8.3m millennial v Gen Z videos. Gen Z users have advocated for baggy jeans instead of slim-fit.
If skinny jeans are going out of style, then I’m in trouble because that’s about the only style of jean I own. Luckily, it seems while there is a big trend for looser-fitting jeans, skinny jeans aren’t dying out.
Levi’s chief executive, Chip Bergh, told investors he did not “think skinny jeans are ever going away on the women’s side of the business”
WHEW.
I honestly don’t care if I look old…. I’m not giving up my skinny jeans. OR MY SIDE PART FOR THAT! My forehead is way to big for a middle part, haha.
On TikTok Gen z is telling everyone side parts & skinny jeans are out of style & this girl really just said “I’m sorry but I’m not going to let the generation who ate Tide pods dictate where I part my hair or what kind of jeans I wear.” And I’m ✨deceased✨
