UNCG Student Finds Man Living In Her Closet, Wearing Her Clothes
What she thought was a ghost turned out to be much more concerning.
A student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro discovered a man living inside of her apartment closet and wearing her clothing this past weekend.
It happened at the Summit at the Edge Apartments at 1212 Oakland Ave. over the weekend. The Junior student, named Maddie, had noticed some of her clothing and belongings going missing, and that’s what first made her concerned.
Items were disappearing and handprints were left behind on the bathroom wall.
On Saturday, she finally figured out what was going on in a terrifying exchange.
She explained to Fox 8,
“I just hear rattling in my closet. It sounded like a raccoon in my closet. I’m like who’s there? And somebody answers me. He’s like ‘oh my name is Drew.’ I open the door and he’s in there, wearing all of my clothes. My socks. My shoes. And he has a book bag full of my clothes.”
Police say that man was 30-year-old Andrew Swofford, who is currently being held at Guilford County Jail.
The most concerning part of the story though, is that Maddie and her roommates have no idea how he got into their apartment. They said their doors are always locked and they did not see any damage to them.
Burkely Communities, the property management company, told FOX8 they are going through all of the details and trying to figure out how something like this happened.
