Gymboree To File Bankruptcy And Close 4 Charlotte Area Stores
We have some not so good news for fans of Gymboree.
I, like a lot of young children, grew up wearing Gymboree clothing at some point in our childhood..but an era is getting ready to come to an end.
Children’s clothing retailer Gymboree Group Inc. is expected to seek bankruptcy protection this week, with plans to close all 900 of its stores.
The affected stores in the Charlotte-metro area are expected to include:
- Birkdale Village, 16916 Birkdale Commons Pkwy., Huntersville
- Concord Mills, 8111 Concord Mills Blvd., Concord
- 5506 New Fashion Way, Charlotte
- Carolina Place Mall, 11025 Carolina Place Parkway, Pineville
Like many brick-and-mortar stores, Gymboree has struggled to stay afloat with the rising online competition.

Okay, so Mexican food is my personal favorite, but I’m not saying no if you’re trying to eat out on the town anywhere. I I am on air for middays but also the Program Director for Kiss 95.1. I enjoy connecting with Kiss 95.1’s amazing listeners and being able to bring all of my favorite things like food, wine, and life online into digital content.
