Machine Gun Kelly Pulls Charlotte Drummer On Stage To Play With Him
Machine Gun Kelly was in Charlotte on Tuesday night, and the show was amazing. I’ll be honest, this is the first time I’ve seen MGK live before, and now that I have, it’s evident why his show at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte was sold out.
The show was awesome; it was packed with cool visuals, and a setlist that was jam-packed, but my favorite part of the entire show actually involved a local Charlotte drummer.
About 2/3 of the way through the show, Machine Gun Kelly stopped the show because he noticed a sign in the audience. The sign read, “I Love Cheese.” To everyone else, it was completely random, but it stopped MGK in his tracks.
THE BACKSTORY:
Machine Gun Kelly goes on to explain that a few months ago, a fan had the chance to talk to him and interview him through the radio. The fan, who’s name is Matt Holmes, asked MGK if he would let him play drums on tour, and MGK, thinking he would never see him in the crowd, said yes!
Fast forward to this week, MGK spent his Monday off at Carowinds riding rides, and by what seems like fate, Matt walked up to him and said, “that was me!”
MGK told him to bring a sign that said “I like cheese to the show” so he could find him in the crowd. Matt did exactly that, and once MGK spotted the sign, he invited the fan up on stage to play drums with not only him, but the entire band.
I caught a video of the entire thing! Check it out below:@cameronxmoore Machine Gun Kelly promised he’d let this fan play drums with him and he delivered in Charlotte!!! @Colson #charlottenc #mainstreamsellouttour #charlotte #mgk

Can you imagine being a local drummer in Charlotte, and all the sudden, you’re playing drums, on-stage, in front of 15,000 at the Spectrum Center. This is definitely one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen at a concert!
Matt Holmes is the name of the fan who had this insane experience, and if you want to see his videos from the night, follow him on Instagram, TikTok or Twitter @mlhsunset
