I remember going to Sears with my mom when I was a little girl to buy my Girl Scout outfits.  My husband and I bought our first piece of furniture at Sears.  So, this news is nostalgic for many of us.  Sears is closing their last department store in North Carolina.

The Sears store at Friendly Center in Greensboro is closing their iconic doors.  It is the last of what was a huge department store chain in North Carolina.  A specific date for the closure has not been announced but a banner has been placed at the front of the store.  One good thing about this goodbye is there are plenty of sales going on at that Greensboro location.

According to Channel 9, CBL properties which operates and owns the Friendly Center said plans are already underway for filling the space.  Not going to lie it makes me sad. It sort of feels like another part of my childhood is going away.  But I must admit I have not been to a Sears in a very long time.  I guess many people haven't.  Sears is closing their last department store in North Carolina.
