As someone who has traveled all over the world and worked/ lived in 3 different countries, when I get to a new places I always think, "Could I live here?" So, what are the most livable cities in the world?

Vienna is known as one of the world’s most beautiful cities to visit, and it turns out, it’s also a pretty nice place to live. The Austrian capital has just been named the most livable city in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) for the third consecutive year.

  • The EIU’s Global Livability Index has just come out, revealing the world’s most liveable cities.
  • They rank 173 cities around the globe on factors including health care, culture and environment, stability, infrastructure and education.
  • Vienna gets “perfect” scores in four of the five categories, but didn’t come in first for culture and environment because of a lack of significant sporting events.
  • The U.S. doesn’t make the top 20, the highest ranking U.S. city is Honolulu, which is 23rd.
  • Atlanta comes in at 29, Los Angeles is 58th and New York is number 70.
  • At the bottom of the list is Damascus, Syria, making it the least liveable city, followed by Tripoli, Libya. Both of these cities were the bottom two last year as well.

7 Apple Updates You Will Be Excited About

Apple Updates come all the time but during the WWDC 2024, they made some massive changes that every Apple Mac, iPad and iPhone user should be very excited about. Here's more directly from the Apple company's mouth.

Keep in mind, I am not a tech reporter or anything like that but I am a user of Apple products so I wanted to share my thoughts!

Apple Updates Includes Apple Intelligence, Kind Of

This move to Apple Intelligence greatly improves Siri on all of your devices. That is a huge portion of what was talked about during the huge Apple event on June 10th. But that's not the only thing we are going to get into on this article.

Apple Updates Coming Soon With New iOS

The new iOS was introduced which is a fancy way of saying operating system for Apple devices. What this means is our phones are going to add quite a few features to make them work harder for us and learn more about our habits.

Keep in mind though, in order to use all of the features of the brand new Apple Intelligence, you might have to get a new device. Other than that, most of the new Apple updates can be used on your current device.

Let's Get Into Your Apple Updates

The new iOS 18 has a lot of useful things that you should know about before making the update on your phone. Keep in mind, some features will not be available on your device depending on the generation of your device or storage limitations on that device.

Apple Intelligence

I went into detail above but I will dive a bit deeper here. They have integrated in writing tools to help you find the right words when you are writing. A new super-powered Siri is going to better understand the way YOU speak because it's learning every time you talk. Also, if you hesitate or stutter a bit, it will keep listening! Chat GPT will be integrated as well, making the iPhone even more into the AI generation.

Personalized Home Screen

One thing that Android users always have on iPhone users are the customizable home screens. That's going to change. Now Apple allows you to change the color and looks of apps, freely move them around to help display your background photo better, more interactive widgets and more. An updated control center is going to make accessing shortcuts so much easier as well.

Locked/Hidden Apps

This one is sparking some controversy for married people out there! There are two new ways to protect or hide apps on your phone so others can't see or access them. So I guess if there's an app you don't want a certain person seeing, you can hide it. Or more importantly, banking apps and more are more secure.

Better Convos With Non-iPhones

EVERYONE talks about getting those green text message bubbles from Android friends. Now, they are still green, but they are more interactive. You can actually receive read receipts from non-iPhones now. Plus, you can also sending higher quality photos in those messages, much better.

Hiking In Maps And Downloads

For the hikers out the, Apple Maps wants to make your life a lot easier. They now have hiking trails for you. PLUS you can download routes and maps so that even without service, you can use the app efficiently, now that's cool. I think the battle between Apple Maps and Google Maps is one that will always rage on but this brings Apple a bit closer.

Apple AirPods

This a really cool addition. When wearing your AirPods, and Siri asks you something, you can shake your head side-to-side for "no" and nod your head up and down for "yes." A silent way to be able answer Siri so you don't have to look a fool in the work elevator talking to Siri. Plus they bettered their sound isolation which is awesome!

Notes Live Audio Transcription

This is probably the coolest thing I saw. Live audio transcription into the notes app MID PHONE CALL! This is kind of crazy but obvious. Like, why didn't we have this earlier. Mid call, you can open Notes and record the call. The other line will be alerted to the fact that they are being recorded, but then it will create a transcript and notes from the meeting. Now that's cool!

Math Notes

This one is unbelievable. Being able to spell out math problems this easily by writing them out? Kind of crazy. We discussed, does anyone actually have to do their homework anymore? This just seems so busy!
