Going on vacation’s so fun. But it can also be so expensive. You typically don’t want to blow all your money on a vacation… but it can be so hard to budget yourself when you’re there trying to live your best life. The Every Girl came up with their list of ways to save while on vaca but I'd like to add some things to this list too!

Starting with flights. Shop around. I find one of the best ways to do that isn't through Travelocity or other 3 party sale sites. It through google flights. You can see multiple airlines and organize from cheapest to most expensive. You can also use there "map" feature and set you departure and dates but not destination. This allows you to see where your city flys to cheap those dates.

Another thing we do before a trip is research. Now I know this seems a little old school but Lonely Planet is a great resource because it give you traveler recommendation for all finical levels.

Any finally for tours my favorite site is Viator. It's like Angies list but for excursions. With that being said ALWAYS read through the comments!

Now, here are the The Every Girl hacks you can do before and during your trip that’ll help you save money. By doing these ten things, you’ll still be enjoying your vacation, just without breaking the bank.

  1. Avoid peak times of the day
  2. Look for last-minute deals
  3. Be open to free activities
  4. Keep an eye out for tourist traps
  5. Do as the locals do
  6. Get a little creative before purchasing
  7. Look for bundle deals
  8. Budget for one splurge meal each day
  9. Take advantage of free hotel amenities
  10. Rethink your souvenir strategy
