A trip down the aisles of any store reminds us that most things are more expensive than they used to be, but a TikToker is showing exactly how much Walmart prices have increased in the last few years. According to Best Life, musician and TikTok creator @sewerlidd recently posted a video comparing the retailer’s prices from two years ago and now, and it’s almost unbelievable.

He shared the clip after looking through his Walmart order history on their app and it shows a delivery order from two years ago that was a total of 53 items for $126.67. "A whole month of groceries, just for me basically," @sewerlid recalls. And while looking at the order, he saw a “reorder all” button on the app, and he wanted to see how much those exact same items would cost today, so he clicked it.

How much has Walmart prices gone up?

While he knew it would be a lot more today, he was shocked by the increase. Brace yourself - those same 53 items that were $126.67 in 2022 would now cost a total of $414.39. "That is four times more," he says. "How? I feel like I'm going to be sick." People in the comments section are sympathetic, including one who writes, “I knew it was going to be bad. I didn’t know it was gonna be this bad!”

Makes one wonder if it is just inflation at it's finest or if Walmart is skyrocketing. Maybe someone should try it with Amazon next!

Applebee’s Closing Several Locations in 2024

Looks like some people will have to find another restaurant for their appetizers and drinks. Applebee's, known for its margaritas, burgers, and bar-type food, announced that it will be closing several locations across the nation. The popular chain closed 46 locations in 2023. Applebee's President Tony Moralejo shared in a fourth-quarter earnings call that 25 to 35 more locations are expected to close this year. There is some GOOD news for fans of the restaurant: chain owner, Dine Brands Global, is preparing to launch Applebee's/IHOP combo restaurants in 2025.

Can you imagine what it would be like to have the option of both Applebee's or IHOP in one restaurant? Not sure how exactly that will work since both spots have different hours. One serves breakfast and the other does not, so what does that mean exactly? Oh well, hopefully, we are able to find out and see where it goes.

Applebee's isn't the only restaurant that plans on closing some of their locations in 2025. Here are nine more restaurants to add to the list.

BTW, Panera Bread is getting rid of a popular drink due to multiple lawsuits. Click HERE to get all the details.

Other Restaurants Shutting Locations Down

Cracker Barrel

Did you know that Cracker Barrel is closing just a few of its doors, but don't expect to not be able to enjoy it. There are still HUNDREDS, and I mean HUNDREDS of Cracker Barrel locations around the country that will remain open.

Things happen and TGI Fridays has closed down a few of it's doors throughout the country. The popular casual dining spot is known for some great flavors at a great price. In January, it was reported that the chain abruptly closed over 30 of its restaurants nationwide.

Denny's

Now, here is one that you may not be too surprised about. Denny's closed down over 50 locations last month across the country. Granted, there are still plenty of Denny's around but there is quite a few that have gone missing this year already. Will there be more?

Boston Market

Boston Market is known to everyone, but for those that do know it. Surely love it. The company reportedly has closed hundreds of its locations across the country, but continues to serve many. My first time experiencing this spot was when I got to Charlotte.

MOD Pizza

If you are a fan of that wood-fired pizza that you make buffet style in the restaurant, then MOD Pizza is probably known to you. During the first quarter of the year, MOD Pizza closed over 20 of its restaurant locations.

PDQ

Here is another spot that's not everywhere, but it's tasty. I know Charlotte has a location and I have seen them also in Florida. Several PDQs, especially in North Carolina, recently shut their doors as a company wide based decision.
