Whipple went to the location and found hundreds of artworks, covered in dirt and wrapped in plastic, and took them home.
They wound up being the work of Francis Hines, an artist known as “New York’s wrapper.” Experts say the collection is worth millions. Whipple has a small selection going up for sale next month, but he says he doesn’t plan on selling every piece he now owns.
