In honor of National Beverage Day and World Cocktail Day coming your way on May 13th, new research highlights our favorite tipples. It comes from Casino.ca, who analyzed Google trends data to find out which cocktails are the most popular across the country. If you live in Georgia and North or South Carolina you must like tequila! The most popular cocktail in those states is the Margarita.

Margaritas actually top the list as the favorite cocktail in the U.S., coming in number 1 in 31 states. All of the south east from Florida to Alabama love the marg! Other states with a love of a salted rim were California, New Jersey, Arizona, Texas, Pennsylvania and Alaska.

  • In the last year alone, there have been 163-thousand searches for margaritas in the U.S.
  • Martinis are second, winning in nine states, including Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire, as well as Washington, D.C.
  • Third on the list is a Constantine, a gin-infused cocktail that’s the favorite in five states, including Michigan, New Mexico and West Virginia.
