Sharks Are Unusually Close To Shore On Kiawah Island What Experts Are Saying
Here’s something you don’t expect to see, sharks close to the shore in tidal pools in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Kiawah Island is a popular local destination for people in both North and South Carolina. The beach town is located right off the coast of South Carolina near Charleston, South Carolina. Many enjoy visiting the area for great food, great hotels, and amazing beaches. Now you have to be on the lookout for “Jaws.”
Experts are warning anyone visiting Kiawah Island to be on the lookout for sharks cruising in tidal ponds. What makes this unusual is it’s a very unexpected spot for sharks. The sharks in these tidal pools are not very big. They’re typically only about four feet long. But still, a shark is a shark and who wants to swim that close next to one? Not I!
These sharks are small but they can still bite.
Town officials are warning visitors and residents according to Yahoo. They’re saying “Although these sharks are relatively small in size (about 4 feet), beachgoers should still use caution and not enter the tidal pools or allow their pets to swim in these areas.” The town hopes that the sharks will leave when the tide is high. So far, they haven’t. But, we have not gotten to the busy part of the summer yet, so hopefully over the next few weeks, they slowly but quickly move away from the shore.
Next stop the sharks will grow legs and start hitting the beach! At least that’s how it plays out in my head! Hahaha! Sounds kind of crazy, I know… But seriously, just imagine how insane that could be? Hahaha, love it!
