South Carolina's most purchased Costco item is what I'm here for! According to the report, Kirkland Maple Syrup is South Carolina's most purchased item. I love that damn syrup! Way to go SC!
- The coupon aggregation site looked at 50 popular hashtags and posts on social media about Costco products to find the 30 most discussed items as of March 2024.
- They used the number of comments about each item, along with Google trends data, to rank the products by popularity.
The research reveals:

- Overall, the most popular item is Goodles Cheddy Mac White Cheddar Shells. It’s the most popular for shoppers in four states - Georgia, Mississippi, New York and Ohio.
- No other items are the most popular in four states, but several tie in three states. Trident Fish Sticks are most popular in Massachusetts, Virginia and Washington.
- Reese’s Dipped Animal Crackers win in Kentucky, Montana and Nebraska.
- General Mills Morning Summit Cereal tops the list in Missouri, Pennsylvania and Texas
- Kirkland Prosecco, their brand of bubbly, is the most popular in Arizona, California and Illinois.
- The majority of Costco’s most popular products - 19 of the 30 - are their own Kirkland brand.
- Alaskans love their Kirkland Premium Paper Towels, while Floridians and those in Maryland are fans of Kirkland Three Berry Blend.
- In Vermont and New Hampshire, they love Kirkland Fresh Berries, while South Carolina and Colorado rave about Kirkland Maple Syrup.
- Kirkland Leggings are most popular in New Mexico, and in New Jersey, it’s Kirkland Signature Stretch Tite Plastic Food Wrap.
- Connecticut and Hawaii both have the Woozoo Globe Fan as their most popular Costco item.
- Kansas, Arkansas, North Carolina and Louisiana shoppers didn’t post enough on social media to be included and three states don’t have a Costco of their own yet - Rhode Island, West Virginia and Wyoming.

10. Solana Beach, California

Solana Beach, California is north of San Diego. It's a super safe town, and the beach is long with great water temperatures. The average rental home costs $4,372 a week.
9. Key West, Florida

Key West is not only a great beach town, it has plenty of history and attractions. Boat racing takes over the town in the summer. Plus, you can get into the Earnest Hemmingway look-a-like contest that happens each year! Average cost of a week rental? $4,547

Sure Laguna Beach on MTV was a great show. Sure, your rental home may sink into the water. But it is a cool beach town. It will cost you on average $4,564 to get a home for the week. Not bad. Hope insurance is included!
