The concept of Southern Hospitality is well documented. So when it comes to rankings of the "friendliest" cities the South makes a good case to be high on that list. And the South is well represented. This list comes to us from Conde Naste Traveler. As part of the publication's Readers’ Choice Awards, they ask readers to rate cities on "friendliness". This is in regard to being friendly and welcoming to travelers. And it makes perfect sense that not just one but two South Carolina cities were included and one topped the list of the friendliest cities in the US. So what were they? Here are the top 10 according to Conde Naste Traveler.

  1. Greenville, SC
  2. Rochester, NY
  3. Lexington, KY
  4. Indianapolis, IN
  5. Milwaukee, WI
  6. Santa Fe, NM
  7. Charleston, SC
  8. Pensacola, FL
  9. Savannah, GA
  10. Alexandria, VA

So Greenville, South Carolina is the friendliest city! Greenville has been getting some incredible buzz and PR over the last few years. The city has become a hot spot for foodies and hosts a variety of events as well. It's a great place for a weekend trip from the Charlotte area as well. It's great to see that visitors are having a wonderful time and seeing what we all know is a great city and state! No surprise to see Charleston on this list either, it's one of the most beloved cities in the South and exemplifies that Southern Hospitality I mentioned earlier.

Can You Guess The Richest Cities In South Carolina For 2023?

What are the richest cities and towns in South Carolina? There is a lot of money in the Palmetto State but there is one region that takes the cake so to say. The financial experts at Forbes recently conducted an analysis to determine the richest places in the state of South Carolina.  To do this they looked at over 400 cities aka census-designated places in SC. Cities were ranked on four metrics including median household income, mean household income, median home value, and median property taxes paid.

So which cities made the cut? The top 5 were all clustered in one area of the state. While I won't spoil that surprise quite yet I will give you the (probably unneeded) hint that it's a coastal area. You'll find detailed info below about each of the top 5 cities and towns that are the richest places in South Carolina in 2023 according to Forbes. You'll also find info on the other cities that made the top 50 list that are in the vicinity of Charlotte.

If you live in any of these cities and towns and have some extra cash to share just let me know! Looking for more detailed information? You can get that directly from Forbes and can read more here.
