For some reason as a child, I feel like it was a lot more common to look up and see a hot air balloon from time to time. These days it’s extremely unusual. Though I was in Arizona a few weeks ago and did see one out there. Which by the way that scenery from a hot air balloon has got to be breathtaking. But Memorial Day weekend, you may just look up and see some hot air balloons in the North Carolina sky. This is because of the Fresh Fruits Farm Memorial Balloon Festival taking place that May 27th and 28th. The festival will take place at Fresh Fruits Farm in Louisburg, NC.

The purpose of the festival and the reason it’s held on Memorial Day weekend, is to honor, remember, and celebrate those service members who gave all, and salute their families. And while the balloons are certainly the highlight of the festival they are far from the only things to do. Festival attendees can participate in a variety of activities including:
