Slang terms are great until you're in a place you're not used to and they're using slang you don't know. Then it all sounds bizarre! Lots of people probably feel like that when visiting the south. A website called Stacker.com put out the top local slang from each state. What's North Carolina's top used slang?

Yonder!

If you're from North Carolina then you're probably like, 'oh yeah! That makes sense.' If you're not from North Carolina, you're probably wondering if I made a typo or maybe wondering "wtf could that mean."

Well, it means yonder, duh! It's slang used to describe the location of a place, usually referring to it being far away.

"Okay, well can you use it in a sentence"

Sure thing!

"You probably can't see it from here. It's way over yonder."
