4 Tips for Charlotte Airport Spring Break Crowds
Charlotte Douglas International Airport is expecting to experience a surge of travelers this Spring Break. Time to make sure you are prepared to enter in the Charlotte airport.
With spring break right around the corner and local schools breaking for an eight-day hiatus, traveling will no doubt be a major concern. Whenever I travel I like to try and keep organized to avoid delays or missing my flight all together. Travel experts are expecting to see a 15% increase from last year and forecasting that the peak travel days will be Thursday March 28th- Monday April 1st.
How to Prepare:
In response to the projected travel surge, North Carolina Department of transportation and the Charlotte department of transportation recommends the following to prepare for heavy spring break traffic.
- Reserve Parking in advance- via CLTairport.com
- Allow extra time to get to the airport at least 2 hours for domestic and 3 hours for international.
- Research shuttle bus and security check point information.
Tips for International Travel:
- Check your passport and visa requirements, make sure that your documents are up to date and you have obtained these items ahead of time.
- Research where you’re going, many countries outside of the United States have different laws, languages and customs that may impact your travel.
- Notify your bank that you are traveling outside the country to avoid issues with purchases.
- Stay Safe, if possible, stay with your travel group or companion when going out.
