When it comes right down to it, this is a huge consideration when you are thinking about putting down roots. We are talking about safety, most likely your number one concern. 3 North Carolina destinations close to Charlotte are among the safest cities in the state.

According to a new survey by the website, Safewise, the safest city in the Tar Heel state is Pinehurst. There around 18,500 people currently living in the town known around the country for golfing and scenic beauty.

In a direct quote from Safewise, here are their determining factors for safety. "For the purposes of city ranking reports, the terms 'dangerous' and 'safest' refer explicitly to crime rates as calculated from FBI crime data — no other characterization of any community is implied or intended. […] We calculated per capita crime rates for 44 states that submitted complete data to the FBI. Here's a look at how crime rates trended across the US: Violent crime rates held steady or decreased in 66% of states; 15 states saw a jump in violent crime year over year; Property crime rates held steady or decreased in 64% of states — despite rising nationwide; 16 states saw a jump in property crime rates; 9 states saw both violent and property crime rates rise year over year."

3 North Carolina destinations close to Charlotte are among the safest cities in the state. Davidson came in at #3 . Waxhaw came in close behind at #4. And Mint Hill, North Carolina came in at #10 on the list.

South Carolina City Close To My Heart Also Made The List

And would you looky here, my hometown is on the safe list for South Carolina. According to Safewise, Clover is the 5th safest town to live in the Palmetto State. Bluffton is considering the safest, following by Fort Mill and Tega Cay.
