A restaurant that people have flocked to in Lake Norman for decades is officially closing. Here’s why this iconic North Carolina restaurant is closing after twenty years serving the community. Here is a bright spot. Another popular restaurant will be taking its place.
Dressler’s is closing it’s Birkdale Village spot. They are located at 8360 Lindholm Drive in Huntersville, North Carolina. They have been there since 2003. It is a bit of a love story. Jon and Kim Dressler originally met while working together at another eatery. They decided to go into business together and open their own place. They reportedly also have a Charlotte location at The Metropolitan as well as Middle C Jazz Club.
Jon Dressler tells the Charlotte Observer, “Dressler’s is a very special restaurant to us and we’re grateful to the community for the love and support since we opened the doors,Being our first restaurant, we did not take this decision lightly. The guests and team are our family, so this is by no means a goodbye to any of them.”
So what is going in that space at Lake Norman? Rare Roots Hospitality will be opening a restaurant in that same space, Fin and Fino. The plan is to renovate Dressler’s, add some coastal inspired design and serve fresh seafood dishes as well as homemade pastas and unique cocktails.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Birkdale Village is undergoing a lot of changes. Business expansion is in the works, 17 openings are expected this year.
