These North And South Carolina Cities Have Been Named Among The Rudest In The Nation
It seems there’s a list for everything these days. If you can dream up a topic, there’s a ranking that fits it. But, I ran across a ‘study’ from travel.alot.com that named the rudest cities in each state in the country. And, according to their tongue and cheek analysis these North and South Carolina cities have been named among the ‘rudest in the nation.’
The unofficial study claims that whether it’s traffic or economy or just tough living conditions these cities seem to have a bigger concentration of what most of us might consider rude behavior. And, I know that’s a subjective term for some. Plenty of folks are sensitive these days to what a lot of us in the past might not have deemed rude behavior. But, sometimes, the lines are clear between decent and downright ugly behavior.
So, here we go. According to the list from travel.alot.com, the rudest city in North Carolina title belongs to the Queen City of Charlotte. Full disclosure, the article points out that this isn’t the first time Charlotte fell onto a list of the rudest in the nation. Travel + Leisure named it as such back in 2017. And, one of the aspects of the city that this article pointed to as a potential reason for the attitude was Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
After all, they point out it’s easy to let your rude flag fly when navigating a busy airport. That’s fair. But, it’s really not the city’s fault. And, many of those folks are just passing through and not always actually from the Queen City. Nonetheless, it’s on the list.
Then, what about South Carolina? This one is a bit more unexpected. The article named Dillon, South Carolina to its rudest cities in every state list. Now, I didn’t know about Dillon until last year when my son’s girlfriend at the time lived there. It’s a tiny dot on the map. And, she was one of the absolute sweetest girls ever. But, travel.alot.com says the town has a bit of crime that tends to fall into the ‘rude’ category and put people in some kind of mood. And, apparently there’s a large commuter population and some road rage.
So, there ya go. These North and South Carolina cities have been named among the rudest in the nation. See the full story for more spots in the country making the list.
Roadside Frustrations: 8 Most Annoying Habits Of Other Drivers
You’re cruising down the road, wind in your hair, and the stereo cranked up to your favorite song. Life couldn’t be better, right? Well, hold on, because here come those annoying drivers determined to ruin your joyride. From the oblivious ones who think turn signals are optional, to the speedsters weaving through traffic like they’re in a Fast and Furious movie. There’s no shortage of infuriating things they do. It’s like they have a secret handbook on how to push our buttons.
You’ve probably dealt with tons of annoying drivers over the years. While the list of annoying drivers could go on, there are eight examples that stand out as the worst of the worst. The next time you find yourself near an annoying driver, take a deep breath, and remember that patience is a virtue.
Is it the person or the car brand?
Does the car’s brand make a driver more annoying? A 2021 survey conducted by Moneybarn in the United Kingdom found that BMW owners were widely regarded as the most disliked drivers on the road, with nearly 40 percent of respondents identifying them as the worst and most prone to causing accidents. Audi came in a distant second at 14 percent.
In the United States, Insurify, a car insurance comparison website, released a report on the Rudest Drivers in 2021. To compile the data, their team analyzed over four million applications, where applicants disclosed their car make and model and any driving violations over the past seven years. The results showed that in 2020, BMW drivers were considered the rudest. In 2021, it was Kia Stinger drivers who took the top spot. Audi A4 Allroad drivers ranked as the second rudest, followed by BMW 4-Series drivers.
Ultimately, it is the driver, not the brand of the car, that determines their behavior on the road. While these findings may suggest certain trends, it would be unfair to make blanket assumptions about all drivers of a particular car brand.
Annoying drivers can really test our patience, but it’s important to stay cool and drive responsibly. Remember, we’re all just trying to get from point A to point B in one piece.
Here are 7 seriously annoying things that other drivers do on the road.
