According to this new study, on average tuition, room, and board for a four-year college can range in price from around $27,000 to nearly $60,000. To determine the best colleges in the nation, Wallet Hub compared more than 800 higher education institutions in the United States across 30 key measures.
Here are some of the criteria the study was looking for. The categories were student selectivity, cost and finance, and career outcomes. Wallet Hub ranked Yale University as the best in the nation. Coming in second was MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Another Ivy League school, Princeton came in third on the list of the best colleges and universities in the nation. California Institute of Technology was fourth on the list. Harvard University came in fifth. And here we are at North Carolina University. Duke University came in sixth place in the overall ranking.
