How Did WalletHub Choose The Best Lake Beach Towns

The Charlotte region showed up nicely in the lake beach towns category. Cornelius ranked #5 among best lake beach towns. And Davidson ranked #6. Of course North Carolina and South Carolina are coastal states and a lot of people come here to visit. Many of those folks choose to just stay full time. My sister Linda did. She moved from Nashville To Sunset Beach, North Carolina a few years ago and absolutely loves it. Sunset Beach, by the way, is considered one of the most affordable beach towns to live in.

So, how did WalletHub choose the best beach towns to live in? They compared 191 cities across 62 key metrics. The data ranges from the cost of housing to for sale waterfront homes to quality of the water. Other considerations were availability to health care and culture. According to WalletHub, many people love to be near the water but they think it is too unattainable to actually live there. The website says "contrary to popular belief many beach towns are suitable to everyday life and easy on the wallet".
