Champagne Is A Beverage Option At Wimbledon
Champagne is a beverage option at Wimbledon. While most sporting events may not offer the bubbly beverage to most spectators, it’s enjoyed by many at Wimbledon. The Championships at Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world. It’s always held in London, England and this year marks the 136th staging. It runs through July 16th. I’ve always heard there are a few traditions that come with this tournament.
All competitors must only wear white, strawberries and cream is a traditional treat that’s enjoyed, and over the weekend I found out that popping bottles in the stands is completely normal. In fact, the line judge had to stop play to tell spectators to hold off on opening champagne during a player’s serve. My only question is, can you buy orange juice too? Champagne is a beverage option at Wimbledon and I have added it to my bucket list. Check out the line judge’s warning below.
"Ladies and gentlemen... if you are opening a bottle of champagne, don't do it as the players are about to serve" 🍾
