Dog Abandoned Abroad Finds New Home In North Carolina
We love a feel-good story, especially on a Monday morning. And when that feel-good story is about animals? Even better. It started off sad when a small dog was injured and left abandoned on the streets in Beijing China. But WRAL reports that Kai Wei was visiting Beijing when she happened to walk past the dog. And she knew instantly he deserved better. He had been abandoned by his owner and waited in the same spot for them to return. It was outside a restaurant and the owners did feed Rain food scraps daily. They also constructed a dog house for him but city leaders had it taken down. Wei took Rain to a vet and got his injury cared for. He had suffered a broken leg from being kicked by a drunk passerby.
As WRAL states, Wei was concerned about who would care for the animal, named Rain, and when she returned home to North Carolina took it upon herself to arrange care for him. It took two years but she was finally able to adopt Rain and get him home to the states. It was not an easy journey at all. According to a Facebook post from the SPCA of Wake County Rain arrived at their facility on Wednesday. He is now safe but looking for his forever home. According to the SPCA of Wake County, they are looking “to ensure he finds a wonderful family who can promise that his future will hold nothing but snuggles, treats, and the best possible care — just as he’s deserved all along.
