A $5,000 reward has been offered up for information after 3 goats were found killed on a farm in Laurens South Carolina. The Laurens Police Department is investigating the killing. The killing which the department described as "heartless" took place at a farm off of S. Harper within the city limit of Laurens. The goats were family pets and the press release posted by the Police Department says the act has "left the community in shock".
Evidence is clear that this was an act of violence committed against the goats and not an attack carried out by another animal. Chief Grounsell of the Laurens Police Department said, "This ruthless act is taken very seriously by our department. We are actively seeking the cooperation of the community to help us bring those responsible to justice." According to the press release the killing occurred sometime overnight between Tuesday, November 21, 2023, and early morning Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
