An overnight staycation or daycation are great way to support your local animal shelters.

Staycation:

A staycation is a homestay with a shelter dog for 1-5 days. However, during this time, you'll get to experience the love of a shelter dog. This incredible program through Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control allows animal lovers to preview adoption. So, whether you're looking to adopt or just spend quality time with a furry friend, there's no denying the companionship and joy that a shelter dog can bring to your life.

Daycation:

A daycation is also a great way to connect with shelter dogs in a fun and meaningful way. Daycations are not just a break from the shelter, it's a few hours or a full day of adventure. Dogs love many activities that you can enjoy in a single afternoon, like walks, playtime, or an afternoon at the dog park. Even as humans we love daycations from our daily routines and the same goes for our furry friends.

How do I Start?

One of the perks of this program is there are no applications or appointments needed. All you need to do is stop by, tour the kennel, and choose the pup you want to spend the week or day with. Once the visit is complete and you wish to adopt, the process is super easy and there's no adoption fees, all in all, you get to take your fur baby home after just a few easy steps! For details on how you can get started visit Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control for more information!
