Belk Confirms Layoffs at Corporate Office

It is hard time for many right now.
Belk has conducted another mass layoff at its Charlotte corporate office here in Charlotte, North Carolina. Belk, a Charlotte institution, has been working to weather the impacts of the coronavirus outbreak.
In order to save finances, Belk made the decision to include closing stores to customers for more than six weeks and placing a large number of employees on furlough in late March of this year. According to the Charlotte Observer, Belk refused to disclose the total number of people who are losing their jobs at this time.
Belk has about 20,000 employees working at its 291 stores in 16 Southern states. You can see more on the story here.
