Need a ride this New Year's Eve? Charlotte Area Transit System is offering free rides from 5 a.m. Dec. 31 until 2 a.m. Jan. 1. This covers all buses, light rail, and streetcar services. Molson Coors Beverage Co. continues its tradition of sponsoring free transit rides. "The program helps people celebrate responsibly, providing them a way to get home safely," said Alison Hanrahan, Community Affairs Manager, to Molson Coors Blog. Last year, the program helped more than 200,000 people get home safely across U.S. cities. Since it began in 1988, millions have used these free rides.

Going to NYE CLT? You can hop on at CTC, 3rd Street Station, or Brooklyn Village Station. Visit RideTransit.org or download the CATS-Pass App to plan your trip. For Christmas, expect Saturday service on Dec. 24. Services will run on Sunday schedules the following day.

Most city offices will close briefly. The Call Center, Lost and Found, and Pass Sales will be closed Dec. 25-26. Normal operations resume on Dec. 27. Looking toward January, transit runs on Saturday schedules on New Year's Day. Regular service starts back up on Jan. 2.

Need schedule info? Call the CATS service desk at 704-336-RIDE (7433).
