These North Carolina Chain Restaurants Unveiled Spooky Drinks

Woah! There’s only a week left until Halloween ya’ll! To celebrate the spooky season several North Carolina chain restaurants are offering spooky drinks themed to fit right into the scary season. GuiltyEats says to make sure you check out some of these spots in the next week to score a spooky drink.

  • Sonic Trick-or-Treat Blast – Tired of picking the flavor for your favorite frozen treats? With the Trick-or-Treat Blast, you can have several of them in one. Combining Heath, M&M Minis, and Oreo Cookie Pieces mixed with creamy vanilla or chocolate soft-serve. This one’s special in the world of Halloween specialty offerings. Since it’ll stay on the menu until the end of the year you have time to enjoy.
  • McAllister’s Witch’s Brew – Only available until October 31st. The Witch’s Brew is an old-fashioned lemonade made with lemon juice, cane sugar, and caramel apple syrup. On another note – I have a witches’ brew to hex your ex if you’re interested!
  • McDonald’s Trick N Treat Mcflurry – The Golden Arches has this offering ready to drop into your treat bag. Vanilla soft serve, crushed orange Smarties, and a swirl of hot fudge.
  • Starbucks Goth Frappuccino – It’ll take a trip to Japan to enjoy this one I’m sorry to say. It sounds amazing though! Frappuccino mixed with bitter caramel sauce and sweet pumpkin pudding at the bottom, but there currently aren’t any plans to offer it in the U.S.

If you’re throwing a Halloween party, you’ll want to serve a range of Instagram-worthy foods that will somehow delight and disgust your guests at the same time. For those who need a little inspiration, Google is here to help you! The website is revealing the most Googled Halloween food and drink recipes based on searches on the site. There’s so many fun things you can do for your Halloween party.

Select a theme for your Halloween party, such as a classic haunted house, a specific horror movie, a masquerade ball, or a more family-friendly theme like “Spooky Creatures” or “Halloween Carnival.” Create a spooky atmosphere with decorations like cobwebs, pumpkins, skeletons, and bats. Consider using black and orange as your primary color scheme. Don’t forget to add some eerie lighting for an extra touch of spookiness.  Host a costume contest with categories like “Best Costume,” “Scariest Costume,” and “Most Creative Costume.” Offer prizes for the winners.

Create a Halloween playlist with spooky and fun tunes to set the mood. Classics like “Monster Mash,” “Thriller,” and “Ghostbusters” are great additions. For an adult party, you can set up an outdoor or indoor movie screening area and host a horror movie marathon. Don’t forget the popcorn and blankets for a cozy and spooky experience.

You can even set up a photo booth with Halloween props and backdrops. It’s a great way for guests to take memorable pictures and remember the event.

    The key for a monster bash may just be to make everything spooky. According to Google, the top trending recipes include “spooky margaritas” and “spooky pasta salad” – which can be made with a little black and/or purple food coloring and your usual pasta salad ingredients. “Spooky cinnamon rolls” are one of the most popular searches, and they can be made with red velvet cinnamon dough or orange and black with chocolate cinnamon filling.

  • Gore is also on the menu

     Some people aren’t afraid to get gross when it comes to Halloween food and the two top trending recipes for the holiday are “lychee eyeballs” and “bloody balls.” For the eyeballs, use whole lychees filled with jam and blueberries to look like eyes, while searches for “Halloween bloody balls” include everything from cake pop recipes to smoky bloody meatballs.

  • Mummies are in

    In 2022, “mummy hot dogs” was a breakout search term, which means searches for it increased by more than 5,000% within the given timeframe. In 2023, searches for “mummy cake pops” are up by 500% and “mummy hot dogs” searches have increased by 250%.

  • Spider-themed foods

    These are also seeing a boost in popularity this year. “spider web taco dip” is the breakout search term for 2023 and “pretzel spider webs” are fourth in trending Halloween recipes.

  • Halloween booze

    People want something to sip on with all these foods and the top trending Halloween cocktail searches are “Witches brew,” “Candy corn shot,” “Syringe jello shot,” “Zombie drink” and “Black jello.”
