Airline Reveals The Strangest Items They Have Found In Passengers Checked Bags
These days, most airlines charge you for checked luggage, which is why Southwest Airlines really stands out. Their passengers get their first two checked bags for free and people have used that for some surprising things that definitely aren’t luggage.
It’s true that people can put some strange things in their luggage when flying. Most people pack the usual clothes, toiletries, and electronics, but there are always a few who try to bring items that are not allowed or are just plain bizarre.
For example, some people have tried to bring live animals in their luggage, such as snakes, birds, and even a lobster. Others have attempted to bring weapons, explosives, and illegal substances. These items are obviously not allowed on a plane and can result in serious consequences for the person trying to bring them on board.
According to Travel and Leisure the airline recently shared a TikTok video showing their five favorite funny things their customers have checked.
These items include:
- A giant stuffed giraffe
- A few kayaks
- A single strand of rope
- A mini police car for kids and
- A pool noodle
The video racked up a million views and many comments asking for more, including one user who writes, “This needs to be a series.” So Southwest listed and added a follow-up video, “Our favorite checked items, part two.” It has more than 4.4-million views already and reveals three more surprising items:
- A single stick
- A big head cutout
- And a bag with the words “emotional luggage” embroidered on it (Now THAT is funny)
Hopefully, we’ll get more videos and Southwest will continue to entertain us but in the meantime…it’s always important to follow the rules and regulations when packing for a flight. It’s also interesting to see the creative and sometimes bizarre things that people come up with to pack in their bags.
